Our story is one of passion, resilience, and family. It began with the vision of Chef Raj Veerella, whose incredible journey from the Hilton in Bahrain to the esteemed kitchens of Sassafraz and Jamie Kennedy at the ROM shaped his refined culinary perspective. In 2000, he brought his dream to life with his first restaurant, pouring his expertise and heart into every dish.
Banjara brand has been featured in Esteemed publications like The Globe and Mail, CTV News, and BlogTO, a testament to our dedication to quality and flavor.
While the name has evolved from Mr. Maharaja to the today’s cherished Banjara brand, our core mission has never changed. We are highly committed to honoring traditional Indian family recipes, using the freshest organic ingredients and a carefully curated blend of spices to create dishes that are both timeless and exciting.
We are a gathering place for the community, a spot for family celebrations, casual dinners, and everyone discovering the true taste of India for the first time.
